NDMC Chairman jalaj Srivastava relinquishes charge

With joining as Additional Secretary in Ministry of Agriculture, Jalaj Shrivastava relinquished the charge of New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) Chairman handing over to Dharm Pal, Principal Secretary (Social Welfare and Women & Child Welfare). Pal will will be looking after the charge of NDMC Chairman in addition to his duties. Shrivastava, during his two-year period as NDMC Chairman, took several initiatives icluding introduction of Wi-Fi in Connaught Place and Khan Market, Rahagiri event in CP, Green Waste Management Plants at five big parks, outdoor gymnasium in parks and gardens etc. During his tenure, the NDMC had signed an MOU to install special poles from Airport to Connaught Place. These ‘Smart Poles’ will provide three facilities – Wi-Fi, LED and CCTV, Roof Top Solar City Project was launched, solar energy through rooftop Solar Panel Installation at schools, hospital, sub-station etc. Apart from this, redevelopment work Connaught Place was also completed during his tenure in NDMC area. NDMC also celebrated his Centenary Celebrations during his stint. our correspondent
