NDMC app to look into residents’ grievances launched

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Union Minister of State for Urban Development Babul Supriyo have launched the New Delhi Municipal Council’s (NDMC) mobile application ‘NDMC311’. 

With the help of this app, citizens can make payments, search emergency numbers, schedule appointments, get notifications and report civic issues online. The application has essential contacts and services for the public.

In this first phase of the NDMC-311 roll out, residents will be able to use general information about the Council. Through helpline24, citizens will be able to contact departments or organisations for instant help. 

Citizens living in NDMC areas can use the app to access all services such as electricity, water, poperty tax, estate, baratghar, yellow fever vaccination, birth/death certificate, etc. This app can be used for online booking, submission of applications, online payments of water, electricity bills, estate and property tax, contacting registered plumbers or electricians.

As this is an interactive mobile platform  for addressing citizen’s grievances. Citizens can lodge complaints and track thir status on the app. The real-time status of complaint resolution will be notified to residents.

The quick pay section in the app will enable citizens to pay water bill, electricity bill, property tax and estate bill. The app will also allow them to explore nearby places such as public conveniences, police stations, Metro stations, petrol pumps, taxi stands, hospitals, library, gym, physiotherapy centre, hospitals, tourist spots and monuments to name a few.

Using this feature, citizens can get complete information about traffic situation at various roads in areas falling under the NDMC and can ascertain availability in parking lots the area. 

Kejriwal said the NDMC should ensure that all applications on the app must fulfill the requirement of citizens. He added his government was committed to provide better amenities to people by using modern digital technology. 

Kejriwal said the app would not only provide facilities to residents of NDMC area, but also disseminate information about NDMC such as its history, vision, departments and upcoming events in the city.

Supriyo said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Urban Development would use technology to transform the country.
