NDMC adds three new machines to prune trees

In order to enhance the maintenance efficiency of Horticulture staff, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Friday added three new mechanical facilities with the latest technology to prune trees up to the height of 30 feet by using mechanical equipment for the upkeep of gardens and parks.
The NDMC commissioned three tree pruning machines with Self-propelled, Hydraulically Operated Hoisting Equipment for pruning and better maintenance of trees at Nehru Park in New Delhi on Friday. Naresh Kumar, Chairman NDMC, said: “There is 48 per cent green cover in New Delhi area having lack of trees and many of them need pruning and these machines will be useful for maintenance of street light poles and to take care of pruning too. The machine is designed for various applications like road side/garden tree trimming, maintenance/repair of street lights, white washing, painting, maintenance and cleaning of tall government buildings/facilities within the operating till a height. Another three of such machines are likely to be commissioned shortly.”
