NDA seat-sharing woes in Bihar continue

With former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi sticking to his demand for more seats, finalisation of a seat-sharing arrangements by BJP with its allies for the assembly polls in the state eluded on Saturday even as hectic talks continued throughout the day.
According to sources, Manjhi on Saturday met BJP President Amit Shah at the latter’s residence twice and held seat-sharing talks when he demanded more seats from BJP for his Hindustan <g data-gr-id="9">Awam</g> Morcha (HAM).
There were plans to declare NDA’s seat-sharing plans on Saturday after its senior leader Ananth Kumar said so Saturday morning. Manjhi expressed unhappiness over the 15-odd seats offered to HAM and further talks with him will be held on Sunday.
MIM to contest elections from Seemanchal, says Owaisi
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) on Saturday said it will contest the upcoming Bihar State Assembly elections from <g data-gr-id="27">Seemanchal</g> region. MIM chief Assaduddin Owaisi said his party will contest the election but will limit itself to <g data-gr-id="26">Seemanchal</g> region, which comprise mainly four districts - Araria, Purnea, Kishanganj, Katihar. "We are limited to <g data-gr-id="25">Seemanchal</g> area of Bihar. We are realistic about our chances of winning. We know our strengths and weaknesses. It is in the interest and justice of Seemanchal region we are contesting elections there," Owaisi said without disclosing the number of seats his party will contest.
