The National Book Trust of India brought together over 60 publishers, from India and abroad, to meet and hold business interactions at the New Delhi Rights Table on 2 February at Pragati Maidan. Being organised for the first time, the New Delhi Rights Table offers B2B ‘match-making’ sessions between publishers.
The rights trade is a major component of the book trade. Besides augmenting business interests it also helps to promote writings across the world. The New Delhi Rights Table is a part of NBT’s effort to promote Indian books abroad.
The New Delhi Rights Table was inaugurated by A Sethumadhavan, Chairman, NBT.
The inauguration was followed by a Panel discussion on ‘Perspectives on Indian Publishing Industry in the Context of Rights Trade’.
