National Book Trust in Istanbul Book Fair

National Book Trust (NBT), an apex body under the Ministry of Human Resource, Government of India, participated in the Istanbul International Book Fair for the first time. The fair was held at the famous TUYAP Fair Convention and Congress Center from 17 November to 25 November. Apart from India many other countries such as UK, Greece, Hungry, Germany, Russia, China and Saudi Arabia participated in the fair. The Netherlands was the country in focus this year. NBT, India representing the Indian publishing industry, showcased more than 200 books on fiction, non-fiction, children’s, biographies, science and technology, language, general and reference. According to NBT, there was a great interest among the Turkish on Gandhi, Tagore and yoga. Sethu Madhavan, NBT Chairman, also met Turkish publishers and shared with them Rights and Translation Scheme of NBT.
