UP Guv extends Taneja's tenure as VC of CCSU

Meerut: Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik has extended the tenure of Dr Narendra Kumar Taneja, the present Vice Chancellor of Chaudhry Charan Singh University, Meerut, for three months or till the date a new incumbent was posted.

The tenure of Dr Taneja expires on August 3.

Dr Taneja was first appointed as VC of the University in July 2015.

Sources said Dr Taneja has brought a new wave of reforms in the university that has become visible in academic upgradation and also in administrative structure. Along with the transparency in admission, examination and evaluation processes the accountability which has been ensured has enhanced the prestige of CCSU to a considerable extent.

It further said his tenure extension by the State Governor is being considered the reward of his unprecedented work approach. This move of Governor is also not unexpected as many top guna's at campus circles were already expecting this, sources further added.

One of the most noticeable achievements of Prof Taneja is making the campus fully electrified by solar energy. Besides this, Prof Taneja has digitalised the entire system of the university that enabled distant students to obtain marksheet, degrees and other documents without any hassle. Singing the MOU with Japan's Tokyo University is another glittering feather in his cap. Further, his personal approach in solving the student's related issues such as releasing his personal mobile number on Just dial earned him a student friendly image.
