UP bypoll: BJP announces nominee for Milkipur seat

Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its candidate for the upcoming Milkipur Assembly by-election in Uttar Pradesh. The party has fielded Chandrabhan Paswan, a lawyer by profession, as its nominee.

Paswan, a prominent contender for the Milkipur by-election, is a member of the BJP’s district executive committee. His wife has served as a district panchayat member from Rudauli for two consecutive terms, while his father, Baba Ram Lakhan Das, is the village head.

The Samajwadi Party (SP) has fielded Ajit Prasad, son of MP Awadhesh Prasad, as its candidate for the seat.

Meanwhile, the Congress has decided not to field its own candidate and has extended support to the alliance’s nominee. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) had also announced not to contest the by-election.
