Two held with heroin worth 19 crore

Kolkata: The Special Task Force (STF) of the state police has seized heroin worth Rs 19 crore and nabbed two drug smugglers from Baishnabghata in Malda, early Sunday morning.

According to STF officials, acting on a tip off, a team of STF officials was keeping a strict vigil on National Highway (NH)-34 near the 18 mile toll plaza in Baishnabnagar since late Saturday night. Early on Sunday, they spotted the suspected vehicle bearing registration of Jharkhand. The suspected SUV was intercepted and thoroughly searched during which the cops found about 10 kg of heroin kept concealed

inside the car.
