Kolkata: Alleging rampant duplicate entries in the electoral rolls of Bengal, Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Wednesday presented several instances where people were listed in Bihar’s electoral roll and simultaneously enrolled in Bengal as well.

At a Press conference, TMC leaders Derek O’Brien and Bratya Basu alleged attempts to enable dual voting and delete valid voters in Bengal to benefit the BJP in the Assembly polls.

In one instance, a woman identified as Sulekha Kumari is allegedly listed in Bihar’s 2025 voter roll (EPIC number BYD4595792) and simultaneously enrolled in West Bengal (EPIC number ARZ2693778).

In another case, a man named Ramesh and his son Umesh are said to be registered in multiple constituencies in Bihar while also appearing in West Bengal’s voter list, with slight variations in names used to facilitate duplication.

The party also alleged that individuals such as Shyam Bahadur Yadav and his wife, along with others like Kumud Singh and Dolly Devi, are listed as voters in both states, supported by documentary submissions. Shyam Bahadur Yadav is listed in the 2026 Bihar voter list with EPIC number AHE0266973 and registered in West Bengal with EPIC number ARZ2693729.

The ruling party also presented documentary evidence showing one Kumud Singh and Dolly Devi were listed in the latest Bihar voter list and are simultaneously casting votes in West Bengal. Their West Bengal EPIC numbers are ARZ22933356 and ARZ2365617 and their Bihar voter ID numbers are CTT1426691 and SSG1926278.

“There must be a limit to everything. The way the BJP has been acting, there will be no Opposition parties. Is this a parliamentary democracy? The same pattern was followed in other states earlier, and the beneficiary was the BJP,” the TMC leaders said.

Earlier in the day, the TMC leader Kunal Ghosh alleged that the CEO in Bengal has been carrying out BJP’s assignment. They are doing massive irregularities in voter lists after knowing that the BJP does not have public support. “Valid voters are being deleted, and fake voters were being added in the guise of Form 6 submission,” said Ghosh.
