Shardiya Navratri: CM Yogi emphasises on women’s empowerment

GORAKHPUR: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended warm wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Mahanavami and Vijayadashami during Shardiya Navratri. Emphasising the festival’s significance in upholding the dignity of women, the Chief Minister made his remarks after the Kanya Pujan ceremony at the Gorakhnath temple.

He highlighted the profound importance of ‘matri shakti’ (mother power) within Sanatan Dharma, emphasising that the respect, protection, and empowerment of women have always been central to the tradition.

Throughout Navratri, devotees engage in fervent worship and rituals dedicated to the nine forms of Mother Goddess Bhagwati Durga,

fostering deep devotion and enthusiasm.

CM Yogi acknowledged the ninth day of Navratri, where Kanya Puja is performed across the state, along with the worship of Maa Siddhidatri.

He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to partake in Kanya Puja and underscored that the festival serves as a sacred means to respect and empower women.

This sentiment is aligned with the Mission Shakti programs in the state, actively promoting women’s safety, dignity, and self-reliance. Ramlila and various events are being organised to mark this occasion.
