Shah to launch FTI-TTP service at seven airports
NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the “Fast Track Immigration - Trusted Travellers’ Programme” (FTI-TTP) on Thursday from Ahmedabad. This facility, aimed at streamlining international travel, will be introduced at airports in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Ahmedabad.
It was first introduced at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on June 22, 2024. The programme has been an important step by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, towards making the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’ a success, with which he aspires to deliver world-class facilities to Indian citizens.
The FTI-TTP provides for a smooth and secure process of immigration for Indian nationals and holders of the OCI card. Registration under the scheme is free and is available at the online portal https://ftittp.mha.gov.in. Candidates are expected to furnish personal information and upload relevant documents online. Biometric details will be captured either at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office or as part of travel at the airport.
Once registered, passengers can use e-gates for immigration clearance. Scanning the boarding pass and passport at the e-gates and then biometric authentication will give the passenger automated clearance, thus saving a lot of waiting time.
