Railways officials defy transfer order, 'refuse' to join dry posting

New Delhi: At a time when Ministry of Railways is adopting zero tolerance for law violators, there are some errant railways officials who are giving no heed to government orders. The case relates to Delhi Division's two officials -- Rajesh Chaddha and PN Singh, who are yet to comply with their transfer orders.
According to sources, both the officials are holding sensitive posts allegedly for the last 15 years and have been continuing in their old department despite being transferred to new ones for two times. Chaddha, who has 'managed' to be posted as parcel supervisor at New Delhi Railway Station, has not 'accepted' his two transfer orders, while Singh, presently posted as a senior commercial clerk at New Delhi Railways Station, also 'refused' to accept his transfer orders.
Both Chaddha and Singh were first transferred to Nizamuddin in booking division of the parcel department and then Delhi in the same department on June 21. Both the officials are union leaders and they want to get transferred only if they are offered departments of their own choice, the sources maintained. As per government norms, any official cannot hold sensitive posts for more than four years as it's a violation of the rules.
