Railway board chief holds video conference with zonal officials

New Delhi: Railway Board chairman V K Yadav on Friday expressed satisfaction over the performance of Indian railways on safety front during the ongoing financial year 2019-2020.

Holding a video conference with zonal railways and divisions, Yadav stressed that safety is prime concern of the Indian railways and said cases of fire in power cars are also controlled now, with modifications done by zonal railways on war footing.

He also said that northern central railway has already completed all required modifications in all power cars in trains maintained by Agra, Allahabad and Jhansi divisions.

Yadav informed during the video conferencing about his recent meeting with the Prime Minister, during which he highlighted importance of building infrastructure, so as to able to run adequate passenger trains and also able to take freight transportation share 40-50 per cent, which will ultimately help growth of Indian economy in a great way.

The Railway Board chairman informed that monitoring of Key Performance indicators of divisions has helped a lot, as divisions are consistently improving upon their previous KPI scores. He also complimented 9 divisions who have improved maximum in September 19, against their August score. Jhansi with 5.5 per cent improvement in September over last month is one of the total 9 divisions.
