Tehran/ Beijing/ Jaipur: Three earthquakes were reported on Saturday from different parts of the world — the Iran-Iraq border, Tibet and India. However, no casualties were reported from any of the places.
An earthquake with a 4.2 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Rajasthan and nearby areas, the Met department said here. Jodhpur was the epicenter of the earthquake, it said. The tremors of the quake, which lasted for a few seconds, created panic among the people.
An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck Iran's Kermanshah province at 7.42 am, near the Iraqi border, the same area which is recovering from a powerful tremor last week that killed over 400 people.
A strong earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale jolted the Nyingchi city and surrounding areas in Tibet, close to the border with Arunachal Pradesh, in the early hours on Saturday. The epicentre of the quake was detected at a depth of 10 km in Nyingchi.
