Prez to inaugurate 'Gita Mahotsav' in Kurukshetra next month

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate the second International Gita Mahotsav at Kurukshetra on November 25. The eight-day-long programme has been organised by the Haryana Government, aiming to spread the eternal message of Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita.
Kovind will also participate in Gita Yajna and Gita Poojan ceremonies at Brahma Sarovar. While addressing media persons here at the Haryana Bhawan, the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar avouched that Mauritius will be the partner country and Uttar Pradesh will be the partner state of the gigantic religious affair this year.
"We are expecting 25 to 30 lakh people, while around 20 lakh people participated last year," Khattar said.
The inaugural session of a three-day religious seminar till November 27 will take place at the Kurukshetra University campus and the valedictory Sant Sammelan will be at the Brahma Sarovar.
"The Vaishvik Path of Bhagvad Gita would be at Brahma Sarovar and Jyotisar–the birthplace of Bhagvad Gita on November 30 in the presence of saints from 12.00 - 12.15 pm," the CM added. Actor-turned-politician Hema Malini will also perform dance drama on the same day.
"11,000 school students will interpret Astadash Shloki Gita at Brahma Sarovar on the international festival," Khattar said.
He also assured of efficient transportation and law and order situation in this duration, till December 3. "Despite many disquieting events in the state, we assure of efficient law and order situation. Quick and stringent actions will be taken. The state government has been organising several international events in the last couple of years. But no disruption took place," the Chief Minister avouched.
