Prasad takes stock of health services in Patna
Patna: Union Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday visited several floods affected areas and government hospitals in Patna to take stock of the health services after floodwater receded in the city.
The Union Minister inspected the facilities provided by the hospital authorities and also talked to the patients. Prasad also visited the worst affected areas of Rajender Nagar, Kankarbagh, Patliputra and directed officials to work on war footing to remove garbage and other wastes.
Prasad is taking the stock of the situation while being in the capital city for almost every day after the city flooded. During the crisis period, he had visited Delhi only for a few hours due to his official compulsions.
While speaking to reporters, he said, "I'm here to take stock of health services after the floodwater receded. There were 119 cases of dengue in hospital, of which 16 are still there."
"The Centre and state are working together to control the outbreak of diseases. As the floodwater drained out, the concern of spreading of dengue and other diseases is haunting the state. Authorities are taking measures like spraying of bleaching powder and anti-larval materials to stop the viral diseases," he said.
