PM lays foundation stone of Bilaspur AIIMS

Bilaspur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh on October 3. This 750-bed hospital along with the Medical College will be built at a cost of approximately Rs 1,350 crore.
In addition, it will also provide medical education at the under-graduate and post-graduate level, besides nursing. Governor of Himachal Pradesh Acharya Devvrat, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare JP Nadda, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Virbhadra Singh and other dignitaries were also present during the event. Gyanesh Pandey, CMD, HSCC along C K Mishra, Secretary, Health, Govt of India, briefed the Prime Minister and the other dignitaries about the project.
The establishment of new All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana(PMSSY) aims at providing affordable and reliable tertiary-level healthcare in the country in general and to augment facilities for quality medical education in various states.
