Pappu Yadav to hold one-day fast
New Delhi: Amid widespread outrage over the rampant killings in Bihar, parliamentarian Pappu Yadav has announced one-day fast on Saturday to rake up the issue of poor law and order situation in the state.
Holding CM Nitish Kumar responsible for the sudden rise in criminal cases, LS MP from Madhepura told Millennium Post the CM has surrendered before the goons.
"Law and order in the state have been given in the hands of the criminals and police are busy in 'managing' prohibition order of the CM," he alleged.
Yadav who also raised the issue in the Parliament on Friday said, "Nobody is talking about increasing incidents of crime in the state. People are busy in discussing DNA, temple, caste, etc as deaths in Bihar are not a matter of concern for the members of the Parliament representing Bihar in the Lower House."
"Every district has cases of numerous murders. Photos of former union ministers with gangsters like Pintu Singh are in circulation, which is enough to establish the nexus of political leaders and criminals," he alleged.
"We are organising one-day fast and if needed we would call for Bihar bandh in early next year...," said Yadav, who also heads Jan Adhikar Party.
In the last six months, Bihar has witnessed several killings, rapes and abductions. Recently, a prominent businessman Gunjan Khemka was shot dead and then KP Shahi, who owns a construction company, was shot dead by bike-borne assailants in Bihar's Darbhanga.
