'Overjoyed' with Cong victory, Rahul in cool hills of Shimla

Shimla: Overjoyed by the Congress victory in the recently held Assembly elections in three states—Rajasthan Chhattisgarh, and

Madhya Pradesh, its president Rahul Gandhi reached here on Tuesday afternoon,

along with his sister Priyanka Vadra.

Both brother and sister duo accompanied by Priyanka's kids, went straight to Chharabra, 13 km from Shimla, where Priyanka is building her dream house, just adjacent to The Retreat—a high security zone, and President of India's summer resort.

The house is almost complete. It appears Rahul Gandhi, beside relaxing in the mountains, will give a final green signal to the house.

Local residents say Priyanka had already hinted that she will stay in the house next summers. Reports said Rahul Gandhi interacted with locals on reaching Shimla and looked quite happy with the weather, and surroundings.

They will be staying at Oberoi group's luxury Wildflower Hall hotel.

On way to Shimla, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra made a stopover at Tarantaran dhaba, near Solan , for tea and some quick snacks. "Rahul also had Maggi noodles," said an eye witness. The state Congress leaders, when asked about Rahul Gandhi's presence in Shimla, said he was on a private visit, to spent sometime in the picturesque hills, after hectic

campaign in the poll bound states.

Senior government officials informed that they were informed about Congress president's visit by the SPG two days back, and exact confirmation came on Monday, after oath ceremonies in all the three states were over, which Rahul Gandhi attended.
