NSCN-IM leader arrested in Arunachal MLA killing case

New Delhi: A joint team of NIA and local MI Unit in Nagaland arrested a self-style Lieutenant of NSCN-IM for his alleged involvement in the killings of an Arunachal Pradesh MLA and 10 others. Sitting MLA and NPP assembly poll candidate Tirong Aboh and 10 others were shot dead in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh on May 21. A home ministry official had said that militants from the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) are suspected to behind the attack, adding that the place where Aboh was killed is under the controversial Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA). Earlier, NIA had registered a case under 302,307, 34 of Indian Penal Code and two other accused namely Sethok Kangnong and Napong Jenpi @ Jenip were arrested in connection with the case.
