Northern railways earns 1.4 cr in a week: Officials
New Delhi: The northern railways has profited around Rs 1.4 crore in just a week while conducting its drive against ticketless travellors, unauthorised travelling, officials said here on Wednesday.
The drive which was launched since August 21 has also detected 31104 cases of travelling without tickets, irregular travel and unbooked luggage.
Officials said fortress check was conducted at Ghaziabad station on Tuesday by Chief Commercial Manager/PS along with Divisional officers and ticket checking staff. During the check 741 cases detected and Rs. 2.82 lakh were realized.
Teams have also been formed involving tickets checking staff and RPF and intensive checks have been organized by commercial officers
including Sr. Divisional Commercial Managers, Divisional Commercial Managers, and Assistant Commercial Managers.
An intensive ticket checking was conducted at Ambala-Chandigarh-Ambala Section by Divisional Commercial Manager /Ambala on
Tuesday with their ticket checking staff. During the check 112 cases detected and Rs. 0.45 lakh were realized, they said.
Ambush check was conducted at Lucknow–Kanpur-Lucknow section during which 249 cases detected and Rs. 1.37 lakh were realized.
Bus raid check was conducted by ACM/ Moradabad over Pitamburpur Station. During the check 396 cases detected and Rs. 1.62 lakh were realized.
Special check was conducted on Firozpur- Ludhiana section by officails. During the check 46 cases detected and Rs. 0.12 lakh were realized.
