Nigerian held with 14 kg cannabis

NEW DELHI: The GRP of Police Station of Anand Vihar Railway Station has arrested a Nigerian national identified as Emeka Emmanuel, aged 35 years from Anand Vihar Railway Station after 14 kg Cannabis (Gaanja) has been recovered from his possession. He has been arrested under section 20 NDPS Act.

On August 21, a head constable of Anand Vihar Railway Station was on patrolling duty. At about 8.00 am, when he reached near reservation hall, he was called by a taxi driver and reported that a foreigner has hired his taxi for going to Mehrauli having two bags is sitting in his taxi.

Some suspicious material may be kept in the bags. The HC along with another constable and taxi driver Harender Pratap reached near the taxi and enquired from the foreigner passenger as to what has been kept in his bag, but he did not tell anything.

Head Constable Lalit opened both the bags and found suspicious material to be cannabis (Gaanja ) in polythene bags. He informed Police Station and ASI Vinod Kumar of Anand Vihar Police station along with staff reached the spot, who enquired the matter from Emeka Emmanuel.
