Cop injured as car rams his bike, drags it for 5 km in UP’s Mau
Mau: A police constable was injured after a car allegedly rammed his motorcycle here and dragged it for nearly 5 km while attempting to flee, officials said on Tuesday. Police have seized the vehicle and launched raids to apprehend the absconding driver, they said. The incident took place within the city limits, with the constable’s motorcycle dragged from the Kotwali police station area to the Dakshin Tola police station area, causing panic among residents, officials said. A purported CCTV footage of the incident has been released by the police.
Two hacked to death, five injured in TN’s Tirunelveli
Tirunelveli: Two persons, including a migrant worker from Odisha, were allegedly hacked to death by a nine-member gang in Nanguneri, police said. Five people sustained injuries in this attack, they added. The deceased were identified as John Mark (47), a resident of Perumalpattu village, and 57-year-old Srinath Gadda from Odisha. Top government sources said ‘some of the assailants’ were traced and arrested later in the day. Those who sustained injuries and were admitted to the district government hospital are A Nelson, P Prabhakaran, V Ramaswamy, A Ganesan and S Sasikumar.
