Minister inaugurates passenger amenities at Haridwar rly station
New Delhi: Union railway minister of state Manoj Singh inaugurated on Thursday the enhanced passengers amenities and conveniences at Haridwar station.
The improved passenger facilities include a new retiring room and waiting hall with MPLAD fund contribution from Tarun Vijay, former Rajya Sabha member from Uttarakhand. Additional General Manager/Northern Railway, Rajesh Tiwari, DRM Moradabad, AK Singhal, Senior Officers from Railway Board and State Government were also present on this occasion.
To ensure that the infrastructure at stations and services measure up to good quality standards, Northern Railway has been progressively extending modernization works viz. up-gradation of traffic facilities like washable aprons for coach maintenance, improvements to parking and circulating area at stations besides passenger amenities like provision of foot-over-Bridges, Façade lighting with provision of LED lighting, second entry to major Station Buildings in major cities, station building improvements with allied works like improvements to Platform Surface, PF shelters.
