Metro services revised between Howrah Maidan-Esplanade stretch of Green Line

Kolkata: The Kolkata Metro Railway authorities has again revised services on the Howrah Maidan-Esplanade

stretch of the Green Line to facilitate the ongoing construction work of the East-West metro corridor by the Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited (KMRCL), this time by reducing the number of services.

According to the Metro Railway’s official statement, starting Saturday, December 14, the number of services on this stretch will drop from 150 to 114 from Monday to Saturday.

The construction work has already led to service revisions since 11 November.

Under the new schedule, services in the east-bound tunnel from Howrah Maidan to Esplanade will continue as usual.

Trains will run every 20 minutes during the peak hours (9 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 8 pm) and every 24 minutes during non-peak hours.

However, there will be no services in the west-bound tunnel during non-peak hours. Peak-hour services between Howrah Maidan and Mahakaran will be available every 20 minutes.

The first train from Howrah Maidan to Mahakaran will depart at 9:08 am, with the return service starting at 9:20 am from Mahakaran.

The last trains on this route will leave at 7:58 pm from Howrah Maidan and 8:08 pm from Mahakaran.

Sunday services on the stretch remain unchanged, with trains operating only in the east-bound tunnel from 2:15 pm to 9:50 pm.
