Indian Army unveils TIVRA, a next level drone attack system
New Delhi: The Indian Army unveiled the advanced Tiger Vayu Rakshak (TIVRA) attack system during the "Innov Yodha" held in Delhi on Tuesday, marking a significant leap in modern battlefield technology.
TIVRA, a cutting-edge Manned-Unmanned Team (MUMT) system, integrates a hunter-killer drone duo designed to enhance tactical efficiency and precision on the battlefield. The system was lauded by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), reflecting its potential to redefine the future of unmanned aerial operations.
TIVRA's operational framework revolves around its two-drones-in-one team concept. The hunter drone is tasked with reconnaissance, streaming live footage to the operator in real-time, while the killer drone autonomously engages identified targets with a precision-guided 1 kg payload. When the hunter drone detects a target, its coordinates are relayed to the killer drone, enabling swift and efficient engagement.
Meanwhile, The 2024 edition of 'Exercise Harimau Shakti', a joint military exercise between the Indian Army and the Malaysian Army, commenced on December 2, underscoring the strong defence ties between the two nations. The exercise, aimed at enhancing interoperability and strengthening counterinsurgency and jungle warfare skills, is divided into two phases: the Command Tactical Exercise (CTX) and the Field Training Exercise (FTX). Following the successful completion of the CTX phase, the FTX phase began on Sunday.
