Hry to observe 'Surgical Strike Day' tomorrow

Chandigarh: With a view to salute the valour of heroes of the surgical strike, a State level function would be organised in district Jhajjar on Saturday. The Chief Minister, Manohar Lal, will be the chief guest at Surgical Strike Day function.

While giving this information, an official spokesperson said that the entire country is observing September 29 as the anniversary of Surgical Strike in a befitting manner. It is a moment of pride especially for Haryana as every tenth soldier serving in Indian Army belongs to Haryana. Thus, various programmes would be organised at all district Headquarters of the State to commemorate this important day.

It is pertinent to mention here that on September 29, 2016, the war heroes of the country had courageously and bravely crossed LOC to strike the terrorists' camps. A number of terrorists were killed and their camps were destroyed by these brave heroes of the nation during this coveted operation which was admired by the entire country.

He further said by observing Surgical Strike Day, it would not only show our gratitude towards these soldiers but would

also inculcate the spirit of patriotism among the youth of the country. By observing this day, a message is being conveyed to the soldiers that the whole country is always with them for their support.
