Haryana: Khattar unveils statue of Padma Shri awardee Seth Kishandas

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the work done by Padma Shri awardee Seth Kishandas for social service in his life is an inspiration for other politicians as well by doing good to the poor and needy, Seth Shri Kishandas has shown that social service can also be a part of politics.

The chief minister was addressing the gathering after unveiling the statue of Padma Shri awardee Seth Kishandas ji in Rohtak on Sunday.

Khattar said that he feels lucky to unveil the statue of Padma Shri awardee Seth Kishandas. He said Seth Kishandas began his political career in Rohtak in 1961.

After his death, the demand for his statue was presented before then chief minister, Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda in 2010 during the Congress tenure. However, he did not complete this work in four years, which could have been completed easily. But when the demand was placed before us, it was fulfilled.

Chief minister added that when we came to power in 2014, we adopted the slogan: ‘Haryana Ek-Haryanvi Ek’ and ensured holistic development of Haryana while rising above family and caste-based politics. But, even today, Congress has not been able to come out of dynastic politics.

“We respect everyone who walks with us, the only condition is that the country comes first, I come second, surely, the atmosphere that is being created in the country today will be replicated in 2024.”
