Govt approves 1.10L houses for urban poor in 6 states

The Centre on Tuesday approved construction of over 1.10 lakh houses for urban poor in six states at a cost of Rs 5,773 crore under PMAY (Urban) scheme.
Out of the total investment, the central assistance will be Rs 1,816 crore under the scheme, an official release said. "The Ministry on Tuesday approved construction of 1,17,814 affordable houses for the benefit of urban poor in six states," it said. Madhya Pradesh has been sanctioned a total of 27,475 new houses, Bihar 25,221, Jharkhand 20,099 and Odisha 2,115 houses.
