FY26: Scheduled Caste finance body disburses record Rs 775 cr

New Delhi: The National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) recorded its highest-ever annual disbursement of Rs 775.26 crore in 2025-26, a growth of 27 per cent over the previous financial

year, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment said on Friday.

In a statement, the ministry said the disbursement was the highest in the corporation’s 37-year history.

NSFDC, a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, covered 59,002 beneficiaries during 2025-26, registering a 41.32 per cent increase over 2024-25. Of these, 39,804 were women beneficiaries, marking a growth of 48 per cent.

Under the Vanchit Ikai Samooh aur Vargon ki Aarthik Sahayta (VISVAS) Yojana (Interest Subvention Scheme), the corporation disbursed Rs 26.09 crore, benefiting 98,748 individuals, registering a growth of more than 334 per cent over the previous year, the statement said.

Under the Scheme for Economic Empowerment of DNTs (SEED), Rs 11.18 crore was disbursed to 1,450 self-help groups across four states, reflecting a 76 per cent increase in disbursement.

The ministry said Rs 215.39 crore was disbursed under the National Fellowship Scheme for Scheduled Castes, supporting 4,219 scholars pursuing higher education.

With an authorised share capital of Rs 1,800 crore and paid-up capital of Rs 1,515 crore, NSFDC has achieved cumulative disbursement of Rs 9,567.14 crore, benefiting more than 16.96 lakh Scheduled Caste individuals as on March 31, 2026, it said.

The ministry said NSFDC has developed a new website compliant with GIGW 3.0 guidelines and Digital Brand Identity Manual norms, which is ready for launch.

It has also developed a Loan Accounting and Management System (LAMS) integrated with the PM-SURAJ portal to enable end-to-end digitisation and improve transparency in loan management, the statement said.
