‘First anniv of Shri Ramlala’s idol consecration set for Jan 11, not 22’

Ayodhya: The first anniversary of Shri Ramlala’s idol consecration at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple will be celebrated on January 11, 2025, not January 22 as previously believed. The date aligns with Paush Shukla Paksha Dwadashi, as per the Hindu lunar calendar, dispelling earlier reports that the anniversary would fall on January 22.
Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, clarified the correct date while discussing preparations for the upcoming three-day celebration. “The Hindu calendar dictates all major religious observances, including Ram Navami, Janmashtami, and Shivratri. The same principle applies to Shri Ramlala’s first consecration anniversary,” Rai explained.
A four-member committee has been formed to oversee event planning, ensuring the occasion is celebrated with traditional fervour and spiritual grandeur. The festivities will include special rituals, cultural events, and devotional programs.
Meanwhile, the construction of the grand Shri Ram temple continues at full pace. The Rang Mandap’s pinnacle, one of the five main sanctum towers, has been completed, symbolizing significant progress in the temple’s development.
Rai shared that several smaller temples dedicated to various deities, including Lord Shiva, Surya, Maa Durga, Devi Annapurna, Lord Ganesha, and Hanumanji, are also under construction within the temple complex. “18 additional temples are being built within the premises,” he said. “The first-floor mandap, where the Ram Darbar will be established, is nearing completion. We are committed to preserving the temple’s architectural heritage while ensuring timely progress.”
Local devotees have expressed enthusiasm for the anniversary celebration. “Marking Shri Ramlala’s first anniversary is a spiritual milestone for us,” said Suresh Tiwari, a resident of Ayodhya. “We are fortunate to witness the temple’s transformation and be part of its historic journey.”
The upcoming three-day celebration is expected to draw thousands of devotees.
