ED questions ex-Hry CM Hooda

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate officials on Thursday questioned senior Congress leader and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Chandigarh for nearly four hours, in connection with a money-laundering case related to a land scam case in Gurugram.

The probe agency had earlier summoned Hooda to appear before its officials on Thursday and appeared sometime in the afternoon. Sources here said that the former CM might be summoned again in connection with the case.

The ED's case is based on an FIR registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation against Hooda earlier this year on charges of alleged criminal conspiracy and cheating under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The probe agency had also named in the FIR Additional Chief Secretary of Haryana Trilok Chand Gupta, who was the then chief administrator of Haryana Urban Development Authority, along with 15 builders, including DLF, Emaar MGF, Buzz Hotels and Ansals.

The allegation in the case pertained to a 1400 acre plot of land in Gurugram that was given away at throwaway prices to some builders and procedures were violated.
