CRB reviews performance of Northern Railways

New Delhi: While chairing a review meeting of zonal performance, Chairman Railway Board VK Yadav on Tuesday reviewed the overall safety performance of the zone during the current year 2018-19.

The CRB noted the 31 per cent noteworthy reduction in the number of accidents vis-à-vis the previous financial year (2017-18) and expressed his satisfaction on the mission mode of the zone in 100 per cent elimination of unmanned level-crossing on the zone, which is part of the "mission zero accident".

At the meeting, the CRB also reviewed the ongoing action plans of the zone with regarding rationalization of rake links, terminals shifting to reduce station congestion and ensure expeditiously primary maintenance.

The CRB also reviewed several development plans proposed in the year ahead such as doubling works, flyovers (rail) to enable operational flexibility and by-passes/chord lines to avoid detention due to reversal.

Various traffic facility up-gradation works such as coaching terminal facility at Bijwasan and Varanasi yard remodelling plans, were also review by the CRB at the meeting which was attended by Member Traffic Girish Pillai, Northern Railway GM TP Singh and other senior officers.
