Police are on the lookout for a 45-year-old woman who allegedly uploaded nude photographs of her 'live in' girlfriend on social media platforms. The Sessions Court had rejected her anticipatory bail application on Monday.
The women, both aged 45, have been in a relationship for the past some time and were working with a city-based hospital, police said.
The complainant worked as a dietician, while the accused was attached to the pathology lab in the hospital, police said.
Earlier, this month the Navghar police in suburban Mumbai, had registered a case for outraging modesty and criminal intimidation under the IPC and sections of Information Technology in this regard.
"It started after the accused posted dietician's nude photographs on a social media site. A complaint was later lodged with Navghar Police Station against the woman," Madhav More, Senior Inspector of Navghar Police Station, said.
The police said that both the ladies were not on good terms for the last 6 months.
The victim told the police that her partner also used her nude photograph as a display picture on a popular messaging platform. The accused had got separated from her husband and both the ladies were staying together in Vile Parle.
The complainant also claimed that she helped the accused lady during her financial crisis, said the police.
"Our team went to arrest the accused woman but she was not found at her Vile Parle home," said a police official.
