Cong's manifesto for Rajasthan poll to lure youth
New Delhi: It seems there is going to be a windfall of job opportunities for youth in Rajasthan as both the parties --- the Congress and the BJP -- are making promises to woo youth voters for the December 7 poling. After the BJP pledged to provide about 50 lakh jobs to youth in private sector in the next five years, the Congress is also set to lure youth with unemployment allowances, governments jobs, farm loan waiver, etc if the grand old party comes to power in the state.
The Congress is set to release its election manifesto for the December 7 Rajasthan polls on Thursday. According to a senior Congress leader, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee president Sachin Pilot, former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, chairman of the manifesto committee Harish Chaudhary and other senior leaders of the party will release the manifesto.
Party president Rahul Gandhi has already announced to waive farmers' loan within 10 days if the party forms the government in the state.
In reply to a question, the Congress leader said, "The manifesto of the party would be very different from the ruling government as we believe in fulfilling all the promises instead of terming the poll promises a 'jumla' after the formation of the government."
"The Congress party has always made a doable promise, which is not the case with BJP as it's known for befooling people by announcing lucrative offers in their poll manifesto," the leader claimed.
The BJP in its manifesto, which was released on Tuesday, announced that illegal migrants from Bangladesh and Rohingya Muslims would be identified and expelled and Hindus who had to leave Pakistan would be offered citizenship.
The manifesto, which has been christened as 'Rajasthan Gaurav Sankalp', also mentioned efforts to check cow smuggling in the state. The BJP's manifesto also promises an unemployment allowance of up to Rs 5,000 a month to educated unemployed youths above 21 years.
