Cong starts Desh ki Baat to counter PM's radio talk

New Delhi: In a bid to counter Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Mann ki Baat" monthly radio talk, the Congress on Saturday kick-started "Desh ki Baat" programme and telecasted it live on social media platforms.

The first episode was started by party spokesperson Pawan Khera.

Commenting on the campaign, Congress' Social Media head Rohan Gupta said that "Desh Ki Baat" has been started to address the concerns of the common man and question the government on their failures, unmet promises and crucial public issues like the economy, agrarian crisis, rising prices, alarming statistics on crime, unemployment and much more.

Giving details about the initiative, Congress leader Sanjeev Singh said, "The social media team of the party has come up with a new series to highlight the real issues plaguing the country."

"The results of the recently concluded assembly elections make it very clear that people want their issues to be addressed. People have supported Congress in the assembly elections of Haryana and Maharashtra, so it's the responsibility of the party to take forward their issues and grievances," Singh said.
