CJI launches LIC's group insurance policy

New Delhi: The Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra, launched on Friday LIC's Group Insurance Policy for the members of Bar Association of Supreme Court in a function organised by SCBA. Justice Dipak Misra, in his presidential address stated that "LIC is an assured arithmetical formula". LIC's performance reflects its affirmative attitude of settlement of claims.

He also suggested that the initiative of providing insurance cover should be taken forward up to the District Bar level and also to the Bar Associations in different streams.

Justice Ranjan Gagoi, Chief Justice designate, stated in his address that this is a significant day for the Supreme Court and SCBA and appreciated the initiative taken by SCBA in taking this policy. He also appreciated the prompt and positive attitude of LIC in claim settlement.

VK Sharma, Chairman, LIC of India said that the trust level of the judiciary in the minds of people is very high and it is a privilege to serve the judiciary. He gave a brief highlight about the Group Insurance Policy and also narrated the growth journey of LIC since 1956 till date. He thanked the Bar Association for showing faith in LIC. In his address, he stated that "Nobody should die uninsured" and that is "LIC's Motto"

On the occasion, Vikas Singh, President of The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) stated that it was his dream and desire to have a robust insurance policy with a decent sum for the members of SCBA to take care of the eventualities as members of the Association were unorganized in terms of social security. He also thanked V K Sharma, Chairman LIC of India for accepting the requirement of SCBA and providing social security to its members through the Group Insurance policy.
