Chhattisgarh to be known as 'Smart Chhattisgarh': CM
Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh said the biggest beneficiaries of Sanchar Kranti Yojana (SKY) will be those residing in the rural areas and hinterland-farmers, villagers and workers. He was addressing a gathering after launching the world's biggest project 'Mobile Tihar' as a part of SKY here on Monday.
Smart phones will be distributed to about 50 lakh poor citizens of the State.
Raman Singh said 4-G smart phones which are the exclusive privilege of Chief Minister and other Cabinet Ministers will be in the hands of workers and farmers. Chhattisgarh will enter a new era of digital development. The State will be henceforth coined as 'Smart Chhattisgarh'. There are several institutes of higher learning -Triple-I.T, IIM, and IIT.
He added the distribution of smart phones is the biggest project of its kind in the country and the world. The smart phones will empower women also. He distributed some phones to women also and marked the launch of the project.
The Chief Minister also dedicated 556 mobile towers and Mobile App 'Goth'. The citizens will come to know about the State Government programmes and policies on smart phones. The phone owners can view Chhattisgarh cultural programmes also. Raman Singh also launched 'Land Lease' (Population Pattas) to the citizens of district Raipur by distributing them. Around one lakh 'Lease Pattas' will be distributed in district Raipur and to 18 thousand families in the capital.
Food Minister Punnulal Mohale, Urban Administration Minister Amar Agrawal, Public Works Minister Rajesh Munat, Chief Secretary Ajay Singh, Information Technology Principal Secretary Aman Kumar Singh, Secretary Sanjay Shukla, and Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut and senior officers of the district were also present.
