Charan's tenure extended to three years as CCSU V-C

Meerut: Putting a full stop on the ongoing speculations about the post of Vice Chancellor of Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU), UP Governor extended the tenure of present Vice Chancellor Prof NK Tanejafor further three years.

In an order issued on Wednesday evening, Governor Ram Naik made it clear that Prof NK Taneja will continue as Vice Chancellor of CCSU till 27th November 2021.

With this latest development Prof NK Taneja would be the first ever Vice Chancellor at CCSU who would be serving the two full terms on this profile. Prof Taneja was appointed as VC at CCSU on August 4, 2015 and his tenure was ended up on3rd August this year. Since then he was on temporary extension of three months, which was also exhausted this month, on November 3.

Granting a further one-month extension by the Governor's office to Prof Taneja, which was also going to end up on coming December 3, 2018, served no purpose but only created room for speculations that "who would be the next VC? But eventually this reappointment order of Prof. NK Taneja for another full tenure put all the speculations to the end. Before three years back a new wave of reforms has started for the all round development of Chaudhary Charan Singh University, changes have become visible in academic upgradation and administrative structure. Along with the transparency in admission, examination and evaluation processes the accountability which has been ensured has enhanced the prestige of CCSU to a considerable extent.
