CBI files charge sheet against 592 accused in Vyapam Scam

New Delhi: In Vyapam's PMT-2012 case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday filed charge sheet against 592 persons. The report contains the name of four Vyapam officials.
According to CBI, in the charge sheet around 245 new names have been made accused. The remaining 347 people have been earlier charge sheeted other security agencies. The names in the CBI charge sheet includes the name of some private colleges chairmen of the college including Ajay Goenka, chairman of the Chirayu Medical College, SN Vijaywargiya of the People's Medical College, Suresh Singh Bhadauria from the Medical College in Bhopal, and JN Chowkse of the LN Medical College. The other four Vyapam official in the charge sheet were identified as Pankaj Trivedi (the then director of Vyapam), Nitin Mohindra (the then Senior Systems Analyst), Ajay Kumar Sen (the then Deputy Systems Analyst) and CK Mishra (the then programmer).
CBI official further claimed that they have also found that in the colleges the seats were given to those students who had never appeared for exams and such number was more than 200 students. In the charge sheet, over 20 officials from private colleges were named and also 143 engine bogie candidates were named. More than 10 guardians of Boogie students were also named in the CBI charge sheet. Several middlemen and 46 invigilators featured on the charge sheet.
During the investigation of the case, several teams of CBI worked hard and visited different States like Bihar, Maharashtra and other different states from where they took all the clues including the details of bogus candidates."We visited several coaching institutions where we check the registers and even some profiles of the candidates were also matched through Facebook.We leave no stone unturned during the investigation," said the CBI official.
The charge sheet was filed in a special CBI court in Bhopal in the case of the Pre-Medical test (PMT) conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board or Vyapam in 2012. The test was conducted for selection to various medical colleges of the state.The probe agency is looking into the various cases of massive irregularities in the various examination conducted by the Vyapam to select candidates for medical colleges and also for state government jobs.
