CBI arrests CGST Superintendent for Rs 25k bribery

New Delhi: The CBI has arrested a Superintendent of CGST from Lucknow for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 in exchange for settling GST matters pertaining to the complainant's firm for the last three financial years.
The Central Bureau of Investigation said that Rajesh Srivastava was posted at CGST & Central Excise Division, Range-II, Lucknow and had initially demanded a bribe amount of Rs 30,000 for settling the case.
CBI sleuths laid a trap for him and caught him red-handed accepting the cash from the complainant. Officials here said that Srivastava's premises were also searched, from where several incriminating documents were recovered.
