Shimla: BJP government in Himachal Pradesh would give a boost to the tourism industry of Devbhoomi by connecting 3Rs — Railways, Roadways and Ropeways, the Union rail minister Piyush Goyal said during his visit to Shimla on Sunday.
Speaking to media persons here, Goyal also made a scathing attack on the Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and asserted that the people of the state have been deprived of speedy development of the Modi government because of his corrupt regime.
"Himachal Pradesh is a beautiful state and it has gigantic tourism opportunity. It can be enhanced. People work hard here. Hence development could happen. However, the people have been victims of Virbhadra Singh's corrupt governance and the Congress party's internal dispute."
"This time people have made their mind to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party under the leadership of Prem Kumar Dhumal and to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi's transparent governance," the minister further added.
Even in the last rally in Kangra on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a jibe at Himachal CM for undergoing probe in connection with a Disproportionate Assets case worth Rs 10 crore and said, "Corruption is the only identity of the Congress party. Himachal Pradesh chief minister from Congress is known for corruption."
BJP has 18 Chief Ministers now and therefore the co-ordination between these state governments and the central government helps in implementation of pro-people schemes, Goyal also claimed.
"We are looking for a new Himachal. People will get homes at affordable price, would try to electrify each and every house of the state, will ensure LPG gas connection under UJJWALA scheme, will facilitate farmers under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Yojana and will empower youths under Startup India and Standup India schemes."
Moreover, the rail minister also ensured transportation of fruits and other food items of Himachal Pradesh to cold-storages and its availability for 365 days rather importing from abroad. Meanwhile, the saffron party sees victory by reserving more than two-third majority in the upcoming single phased Assembly Elections of Himachal Pradesh in 68 constituencies—scheduled on November 9. The result will be declared on December 18.
