BJP-JJP are making only baseless claims on MSP, says Hooda

CHANDIGARH: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda extended heartfelt greetings to the people of the country and the state on Dussehra. Hooda participated in several programs organised on this occasion.

On this occasion, Hooda said that Dussehra gives us the message of victory of Dharma, truth and goodness over Adharma, lies and evil. “This festival inspires us to follow the path of principles, dignity, humility and duty like Lord Ram and also teaches us that no one should ever be arrogant like Ravana, because in the end arrogance and injustice are defeated,” he said.

Earlier, while talking to the mediapersons he said only empty claims are being made by BJP-JJP regarding MSP. “The truth is that MSP has remained limited to papers only, during the tenure of this government. I have myself visited the markets of the entire state and the markets were filled with paddy but smooth procurement was not done by the government. Everyone, including farmers, labourers and commission agents, appeared to be in dire straits because the government deliberately delayed the procurement of paddy and millet. Due to this, crop rates fell in the market and farmers had to sell their crops at rates lower than the MSP,” he stated.

He further said in this crop season, claims being made by the government regarding the portal were once again exposed.
