Bhutan ACC delegation visits CBI, Delhi
New Delhi: As a part of exchange programme to enhance cooperation between India and Bhutan to fight economic and conventional crime, a six-member delegation of Anti Corruption Commission of Bhutan is in India now.
The team is visiting CBI from July 23 to 27 and is headed by Aum Kinley Yangzom, who is the Chairperson of ACC, Bhutan. The objective of the team is to help each other in capacity building to fight the economic offences.
According CBI's official press communiqué, the visit is a part of CBI's effort to forge organisation-to-organisation ties with other international agencies to ensure better cooperation in checking cross border crime and apprehending fugitives.
"The delegation is also scheduled to visit the offices of CVC, BPR&D and CFSL for understanding aspects of corruption and crime investigation and Criminal Information Management System," the release said, adding that the delegation spent a full day in CBI Academy, Ghaziabad on Tuesday and interacted with officers.
Remarking on the importance of the visit by Bhutan delegation, CBI Director Alok Kumar Verma said, "CBI's experience and competency in fighting corruption, organised crime and economic frauds can be of great value to our sister agencies in neighbouring countries. We are engaged with Bhutan in capacity building and experience sharing. I feel this cooperation will be mutually beneficial since fighting economic crimes today transcends traditional boundaries."
