All MPs, MLAs, MLCs to attend BJP national executive meet

New Delhi: After years 1,400 party MLAs, 83 MLCs, 250 state ministers, Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states, 281 Lok Sabha members and 56 Rajya Sabha members would attend the party's 'Extended' National Executive meeting on September 25 at Talkatora Stadium here.
The mega event is politically significant because BJP is ruling in 19 states for the first time in its history.
Even BJP sources mentioned that the party aims to reach out to more people with party's vision through direct communication. To put across party's policies directly to the members, the BJP top leadership has preferred to make the meet an 'extended' event.
On the eve of the National Executive meeting on September 24, the party's office-bearers would meet to discuss different issues, including resolutions to be taken up next day, BJP sources said.
"There will be office-bearers' meeting and later in the day party's national president Amit Shah will address them," a BJP national general secretary mentioned.
PM Modi would address all invitees on September 25, which is also the birth anniversary of Jan Sangh stalwart Deen Dayal Upadhyay. The day would be observed as Sarvatra Swachhta to propagate his vision of antyodaya (uplift of the last man) and integral humanism.
Large-scale cleaning of hospitals, parks, statues, bus stops, railway stations and ponds would be taken up on that day.
Two resolutions, political and economic, would also be passed on that day.
According to the BJP constitution, the National Executive of the party constitutes the Parliamentary Board consisting of the party president and 10 others, including the leader of the party in Parliament, as members. Thus, it is also expected that BJP national president Amit Shah will reconstitute BJP's top bodies.
Speculation is rife over an overhaul of the BJP Parliamentary Board, the highest-decision making body in the party. A revamp of Central Election Committee (CEC) is on the cards with the exit of M Venkaiah Naidu after his election as the country's Vice President.
