AeroArc Robotic Mule: Revolutionising Indian Army operations

Pune: Among the standout features of this year’s Army Day Parade in Pune was the introduction of the AeroArc Robotic Mule, a state-of-the-art Quadrupedal Unmanned Ground Vehicle (Q-UGV) developed by AeroArc, a subsidiary of Arc Ventures (ARCV) based in New Delhi. Designed to operate in some of the most challenging environments, these robotic mules aim to enhance operational capabilities while reducing risks to soldiers.

The Indian Army took delivery of 100 AeroArc Robotic Mules, also known as Multi-Utility Legged Equipment (MULE), in June 2024.

These cutting-edge machines are built for diverse tasks, including perimeter security, asset protection, hazardous material handling (CBRNE), bomb disposal, and intelligence gathering.

Equipped with advanced technology, the robotic mules can carry a variety of payloads, including weapons,

night vision and thermal cameras, drones, and even a robotic arm capable of manipulating objects.

Additionally, they are compatible with chemical and radiation sensors, enhancing their utility in complex operational scenarios.

Weighing 51 kilograms, the AeroArc Robotic Mule features an IP67 rating,

making it both dustproof and water-resistant.
