Adani Group pledges unprecedented support for Mahakumbh 2025 devotees
Mahakumbh Nagar: In a remarkable display of cultural and spiritual commitment, the Adani Group has announced a series of initiatives to serve millions of pilgrims attending Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. These efforts, centered on the group’s ‘Seva Hi Saadhna Hai’ pledge, highlight its dedication to enhancing the spiritual experience of devotees participating in the world’s largest religious gathering.
Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, visited the iconic Gita Press in Gorakhpur, where he pledged to distribute one crore copies of the ‘Aarti Sangrah’ to pilgrims. These sacred texts will be handed out free of cost during the highly auspicious Shahi Snan, offering a spiritual keepsake to the attendees. Taking to social media platform X, Adani expressed his gratitude for being part of this spiritual endeavor, stating, “It is a matter of immense satisfaction for us that in this Mahayagna, with the cooperation of the esteemed institution Gita Press, we are offering one crore copies of 'Aarti Sangrah' free of cost to the devotees who have come to Kumbh.” He also praised the Gita Press for its over 100 years of service in preserving and promoting Sanatan literature.
Founded in 1923, Gita Press is renowned as India’s largest publisher of Hindu religious texts and has played a pivotal role in safeguarding the faith during challenging times, including colonial rule. After facing financial challenges, the institution saw a resurgence in demand for its publications, particularly the ‘Ramcharitmanas,’ during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, enabling a revival of its legacy.
In addition to distributing religious texts, the Adani Group has partnered with the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) to launch the ‘Mahaprasad Seva’ initiative. This program will provide meals to 50 lakh devotees throughout the duration of the Mahakumbh, which begins on January 13, 2025. The meals will be prepared in two large kitchens within and outside the Mela area and distributed at 40 locations with the help of over 2,500 volunteers. Announcing the initiative on social media, Gautam Adani emphasized the group’s mission to serve humanity through these efforts.
As Uttar Pradesh prepares for Mahakumbh 2025, the Adani Group’s initiatives are set to significantly enhance the event’s infrastructure and services, showcasing India’s unity and spiritual heritage to the world.
