13 NGOs blacklisted last year for irregularities: Govt

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment blacklisted 13 NGOs across the country last year for violating guidelines under different schemes and committing irregularities.

Of the total, three NGOs were from Karnataka which worked for the welfare of senior citizens were blacklisted.

Another three organisations which worked for the cause of empowering Other Backward Classes (OBCs) have been blacklisted in Madhya Pradesh, he said. Besides, two organisations each from Uttar Pradesh and Delhi and one apiece from Assam, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have been blacklisted.
