‘NaMo bhakt’ Sarthak tops CBSE with 99.6%

Delhi boy Sarthak Aggarwal, a science student from Delhi Public School (DPS), Vasant Kunj has topped all India Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) by scoring 99.6 per cent marks on Thursday.

Sarthak, who studied science from Delhi Public School (DPS), Vasant Kunj is a die-hard Modi admirer. He credits Modi as one of his inspirations for the tremendous results in his class 12th. 
‘Narendra Modi is my idol. I’m truly inspired by him, I admire his ideas, skills and his willingness to work tirelessly for the nation’, said Sarthak.  

A cricket-enthusiast, Sarthak said that the result came as a surprise to him. ‘Obviously I was expecting a good score but not this much. I couldn’t believe it when I found out that I have topped the country’, he added.  

He wants to pursue Economics from Delhi University (DU). ‘I want to study Economics Honours from either Sri Ram College of Commerce or St Stephens. I was always interested in economics. I hope I get through the sky-rocketing cut-off of DU’, he laughs. 

Vrinda Vinayak from DPS, RK Puram has topped the list in commerce with 98.4 per cent marks. As many as 2,423 number of students from the national capital scored above 95 per cent marks, as against 1,523 last year. The CBSE declared its class 12th results for Delhi and Dehradun region on Wednesday. 

The pass percentage in?Delhi stood at 86.78 per cent, same as last year. Out of 2,90,463 students who appeared for examination, 2,52,074 managed to pass it. 

As usual, girls in the city have yet again outshone boys in class12 board results. While the pass percentage of girls was 91.72 per cent, their male counterparts stood way behind at 82.09 per cent.
Meanwhile, the CBSE Class 12th results 2014 have shown that for the second year running, Delhi has registered the highest number of cases using unfair means during the examinations.
